With reference to Your Excellency's letter
No. 562/1915 dated 30th. March, 1915, I have the honour to forward
for Your Excellency's information the attached paraphrase of a
telegram which I have received from the Amiralty. There seems to
be some misunderstanding on the part of the Admiralty as my letter
to Your Excellency dated 25th. March last is quoted, this letter
referred solely to telegraphic communication between the local
cable offices and Stonecutters, whereas the lines upon which a report.
vequers is called for are those connecting the Dockyard with
Stone cutters W.T. Station. As I wish to make the situation perfect.
-ly clear to Their Lordships I would be glad to know how the
matter of connecting the Cable Offices stands at present.
I have etc..
(sd.) Rob. H. Anstruther,
Rear-Admiral.
His Excellency
Sir F. H. May, K.C.M.G.,
Governor and Com ander-in-Chief,
Hongkong.
